Giardino degli Iris

This is where this city starts from. A flower. FLOR... FLORENTIA. The purple iris is the symbol of the city, and this colour is absolutely gorgeus, but it's not the only one you will find at the Giardino degli Iris. Located in one of the most beautiful spots of the city, near Piazzale Michelangelo, the garden will suddenly reveal itself to visitors only for one month each year. 

Ecco da dove comincia questa città. Un fiore. FLOR...FLORENTIA. L'iris viola è il simbolo della città, e questo colore è fantastico, ma non l'unico che trovarai al Giardino degli Iris. Situato in uno dei luoghi più belli della città, vicino a Piazzale Michelangelo, il giardino si rivela improvvisamente ai visitatori, per un solo mese all'anno.

Between April and May, it is possible to see this magnificent place blooming with delicate, gradient, tender hues, or bright and sparkling colours. 

Tra aprile e maggio è possibile vedere questo posto meraviglioso esplodere di sfumature delicate o colori brillanti e screziati.

You'll just want to fall into the petals, plunge into the scented bed where beauty lives. Like a bee looking for its nectar. And forget about the world.

Vorrai solo cadere tra i petali, tuffarti in quel letto profumato dove vive la bellezza. Come un'ape che cerca il suo nettare. E dimenticare il mondo.

Hello Spring and Petals

Welcome to that peculiar time of the year when new energies are about to be born, when the sun lingers longer and we just crave outdoor pleasures. But also time to open the windows and let fresh air in, to clear up and declutter, get rid of burdens and redecorate.
It's the time when flowers bloom on the paper on my desk, where colors and light trace bright nature inspired patterns.Tulip, lilac, rose, daisy, daffodil, hyacint, primrose, periwinkle petals. 
Tender leaves with a surprisingly strong scent that can be found in hidden pathways through groves or scattered on the fields.
This series of original watercolor paintings measures 8.6x8.4 inches/ 22x21,4 centimeters, is made on a 100% cotton paper made in Italy and is already availabale in my shop.

Benvenuta in quel particolare momento dell'anno in cui nuove energie stanno per nascere, quando il sole si attarda sul giorno e desideriamo goderci le giornate all'aperto. Ma anche tempo di aprire le finestre e far entrare aria fresca, liberare la nostra vita e i luoghi che abitiamo da inutili pesi.
Ecco perchè sono sbocciati fiori sulla carta del mio tavolo, dove colori e luce tracciano disegni ispirati alla natura. Petali di tulipano, lillà, margherita, narciso, giacinto, rosa, pervinca, primula. Foglie tenere con un profumo sorprendentemente forte, che si possono trovare nei sentieri del bosco o sparsi nei prati.
Questa serie di acquerelli originali su carta misura 22x21,4 centimetri, è fatta su carta italiana 100% cotone ed è già disponibile in negozio.

BLOGGER FEATURED. Christmas Flower Power

Lo so, lo so.
E' Natale, mica Primavera.
Però però, spinta forse dal non profumo 
del mio albero di natale di plastica,
in questi giorni ho fatto un giretto su internet
a caccia di blog sul giardinaggio, 
e ho trovato dei siti così carini,
e dei giardinieri - bloggers così gentili,
che mi è tornata voglia di fiori.
Con un certo orgoglio ammetto che i fiori nella foto
sono usciti dal mio pollice verde,
durante una terribile sbandata per bulbose e rizomatose.
Del resto questo è solo un coming out, 
perché l'amore per la botanica si capisce subito dalle mie opere.
Se vi sentite intrappolati nella plastica e nel cemento, 
siete orientati all'ecosostenibile, 
pensate che i bimbi debbano sapere che la frutta nasce sugli alberi,
cercate un centro di gravità permanente
o un luogo di meditazione zen,
durante le feste sbirciate questi bellissimi blogs.

I know, I know, 
this is Christmas, not Spring.
But in decorating my scent-free plastic Christmas tree,
I somehow felt the urge to browse for gardening blogs,
and I found so many wonderful sites,
and met such a nice bunch of gardeners - bloggers,
that I couldn't help writing this post.
I'm proud to say that I personally grew the flowers in the photos,
during a terrible crush on bulbs.
After all, this is nothing but a public confession
of something you "might" have noticed from my paintings.
I love plants.
If you feel like you can't stand anymore plastic and cement, 
if you are pointing to a green vision of the world,
and think children should know fruits grow on trees
or you're looking for the perfect place for a zen metitation,
